An unexpected turn of events
Wow, what a busy couple of weeks! In the space of just a couple of days, my wife and I decided it was finally time to expand our family. We had been talking about it for a number of years, but felt now was finally the time.
We opened up Safari, and started searching for a little fluffy companion for us. We came across a little chocolate coloured puppy Doxiepoo (Miniature Dachshund and Toy Poodle mix) and instantly fell in love. We contacted the advertiser and asked a load of questions, and finally asked if we could meet him. They agreed and said we could pop around as soon as we wanted. We were really pleased as we were thinking if they asked to delay to the following week for example, while the reaosning could be completely genuine, it still would have made us think 'what are they hiding?'.
This wasn't the case though, and we popped in the car and drove to meet this cute little fella. As soon as the door opened he jumped out of the door with the other dogs at the household. It was really great to see both the mum (the Toy Poodle) and the dad (the Wirehaired miniature Dachshund) there with him, as again if they weren't and we couldn't see the mum for example, this would have set alarm bells ringing.
The couple were super friendly, inviting and helpful with us, and we had a good long chat while playing with the dogs. They also had a large English Bulldog who got a bit jealous of us all making a fuss of the others, so came over to me and flopped down on my foot and drifted off to sleep. He was such a friendly chap too. All the dogs there were super friendly and were having fun playing.
The next day we spoke to the couple again and said we were really REALLY keen on the puppy and would really like to have him. Later the same evening, we were driving home with the latest addition to the household, our lovely new Doxiepoo called Theodore (but we're calling him Teddy for short)!
We've created an Instagram page for him, so if you want to see just how blooming cure he is, here is the link
